RemePhy was founded by a team that combines deep scientific expertise with real-world commercial experience.

Sarah McMullen — CEO

Sarah leads RemePhy’s commercial scale-up, partnerships, and route to deployment. Former CEO of PGIM Ltd, she brings 20+ years of senior leadership experience and focuses on turning validated trials into repeatable projects with measurable outcomes and revenue. She has a BSc in Physiology from the University of Edinburgh.

Franklin Dean Keck — CTO

Franklin is a PhD candidate in Plant Biotechnology at Imperial College London and leads the scientific platform and IP behind RemePhy’s plant–microbe approach to heavy-metal remediation and recovery. He oversees R&D strategy, trial design and performance validation—building systems that perform across real, variable sites and can be deployed responsibly at scale.

Ion Ioannou — COO

Ion holds a PhD in Synthetic Biology from Imperial College London and brings a strong track record of leading and managing multidisciplinary research projects. He leads operations and delivery at RemePhy, coordinating trials, partners and data capture and driving the pathway from harvested biomass through to downstream recovery/offtake routes.
